Skype supports only Windows Phone 8 now

Skype is a instant messaging service available for multiple platforms and probably the most popular service available today. Skype was an independent company but Microsoft bought it few years ago. Now it is owned by Microsoft.

Recently, Microsoft has announced that it will no longer update its Windows Phone 7 version as Windows Phone 7 is no longer up to date version of  Windows Phone. Now it will concentrate on its Windows Phone 8 version only as Microsoft is trying its best to make Windows Phone 8 a popular mobile Operating System and it seems that Microsoft is going in right direction.

So the bottom line is that the people with Windows Phone 7 will no longer receive updates for Skype. If they want further support, they will have to move to Windows Phone 8.
