Windows Store and Windows Phone Store going to merged next year as announced by Microsoft

Last week, we brought you the news of success of Windows Store as the number of apps in it reaches the number 100k. Before that, we informed you about the success of Windows Phone in India becoming the 2nd largest smartphone OS in India, definitely beating Apple iOS. This indicates that Microsoft is going in right direction.

Microsoft recently unveiled its next step regarding its Stores i.e. Windows Store and Windows Phone Store. As obvious by name, Windows Store contains apps from Desktop Windows while Windows Phone Store contains apps for Windows Phone smartphones. Recently, in a meeting of Microsoft, Terry Myserson, head of the Operating Systems group revealed the plan of merging the both stores i.e. Windows Store and Windows Phone Store. Moreover, this merge is expected to take place next year in spring.

It seems that Microsoft may be working on the compatibility of both Stores’ apps. This will enable you to run Windows Phone apps on Desktop and Windows apps on smartphones. However still it’s not confirmed. That’s all till now. We will keep you informed about the Microsoft next story regarding this.
