How to fix Genshin Impact Crashing Issues during gameplay on PC

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world action role-playing gacha video game from miHoYo. The game is now available on PC, PS4, and mobile devices. Some users have reported that are running into various Genshin Impact crashing issues while trying to play, here are a few ways you can fix that.

The game is also available on both Android and iOS mobile devices for free. It is a massive success on each platform, especially the iOS version.

Fix Genshin Impact Crashing Issues

If you are running into any form of crashes during gameplay, here are a few things you can try to fix those.

Fix 1: Download latest GPU Drivers

Make sure you are on the latest drivers for your respective GPUs. You can download these drivers from the links below.

Fix 2: For NVIDIA Users

  • Right-click a blank space on your desktop select NVIDIA Control Panel
  • Click on 3D Settings and then Manage 3D Settings
  • After this, select Program Settings and then Choose the program you want to customize
  • Select Genshin Impact in the drop-down menu
  • In the second drop-down menu, select the program’s preferred graphics processor

Fix 3: For AMD Users

  • Right-click a blank space on your desktop and select Radeon Settings and then Preferences
  • After this, click on Additional Settings and then Power
  • Now, select Switchable Graphics Application Settings (or: Graphics Card Properties > Graphics Card Performance > AMD Radeon Dual Graphics > Use AMD Radeon Dual Graphics).
  • Here, select Genshin Impact from the program list. (If the game is not in the list, click “Add Program”, and select the Genshin Impact executable file (.exe) in its installation directory.)
  • Then in the “Graphics Card Settings” column, set “High Performance” or “Highest Performance” to the game.

Fix 4: Turn off Anti-aliasing

If your PC doesn’t meet the requirements, try turning this setting off and see if it makes a difference in crashing.

Fix 5: Disable full-screen optimizations

Head over to where the game is installed for you, and navigate to the following folder,

\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\

  • Now right-click on the GenshinImpact.exe and select Properties
  • Here, head into the compatibility tab and check the following
    • Disable fullscreen optimizations
    • Run this program as administrator

Fix 6: Run in Windows 7 Compatibility

Head over to where the game is installed for you, and navigate to the following folder,

\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\

  • Now right-click on the GenshinImpact.exe and select Properties
  • Here, head into the compatibility tab
  • Now, set “Run this program in compatibility mode” to “Windows 7”

The developers are aware of these issues and are actively working to fix those as well.
