Microsoft to introduce a tiny Windows 8.1 update on August 12

Microsoft Windows 8.1 is set to receive Update 2 later this Fall. Prior to that, Microsoft is getting ready to bring a tiny but significant update on August 12 i.e. six days later. Earlier, it was expected that Update 2 would debut on August 12,The tiny Windows 8.1 update will be introduced in Microsoft’s monthly ‘Patch Tuesday’ event.

Microsoft has revealed the details of this Windows 8.1 Update. The update will feature three significant enhancements i.e. precision touchpad improvements, Miracast Receive and Minimizing login prompts for SharePoint Online. With new touchpad improvements, you will be able to leave touchpad on when mouse is connected, allow right clicks through touchpad and double tap-and-drag. Miracast Receive will allow OEM drivers to develop Win-32 bit applications that can run on Windows 8.1 by exposing a set of Wi-Fi direct APIs. The third feature makes it easier to login at SharePoint Online.

Other than Windows 8.1 update, Microsoft will also bring a small update to Windows Server 2012. The update will include bug fixes, security updates and performance improvements.
