VLC For Android

It took developers a long time to release a stable version of VLC for Android. It was under the beta tag for more than a year now. Developers have finally updated the app today and dropped the beta tag. The app is officially stable now.

In the stable version of VLC for Android the Chromecast support, which was promised back in July is still missing. Although it fixed some bugs and brought some performance improvements. The issue which was facing by the users running new ARMv8 has been resolved and it also fixed the crashing issue on Android 5.0+ devices. The new version of app includes better playlist management, updated SD card detection and wide screen support. And now on Android 4.3+ devices, hardware acceleration has been enabled by default. VLC for Android is free to install on any Android device running Android 2.1+.
