Sony SmartWatch 2 First Impression

Sony SmartWatch 2 (SW2) is recently started to ship to Europe and its being put on a large demand scale from couple of days. The focus on wearable computer has been a real attraction this year.

Sony SmartWatch 2 comes with a 1.6-inch display with 220 x 176 pixel resolution, NFC for easy pairing, IP57 water resistance, an aluminium frame and a rubber (or metal) wristband. The watch needs the brains of your smartphone to function, therefore it is meant to act as an accessory to it, helping you to check emails or social status updates. There are also a wealth of apps on the Google Play Store to expand its functionality.

Sony SmartWatch 2 comes packed in a plastic box, with the side highlighting the NFC paring. With it a small micro USB cable is included. Additional features such as the IP57 water resistance, 3-4 day battery life, NFC and Bluetooth gives it a slightly boom in market.

The power button found in all 2013 Sony Xperia smartphones makes an appearance on the Sony SmartWatch 2. The other side of the watch has the micro USB port flap. It doesn’t got any problem while opening and closing it. Sony SmartWatch 2 with the rubber wristband gets every comfortable at time and can be used for long period time without irritation. The model and the serial number can be found on the back of the watch.

When you will first switch on the Sony SmartWatch 2, it would give you a Sony logo, it will then request to pair the watch with phone. It could simply be done by tapping NFC enabled phone with watch and if your phone doesn’t have NFC it could be manually be done by pairing it by Bluetooth. Once you have paired the phone, you will then be asked to download and install the dedicated Smart Watch 2 App onto your phone. Once fully loaded, now you will see the time same as in your phone and its ready to provide you all the functions.
