As we are all excitedly waiting for the PS5, it seems that a known industry insider, BenjiSales, may have filled in the blank when it comes to the power of the PS5 DevKit. Benji has now deleted the tweet, but he says its for the better that it stays that way.

The PS5 DevKit could be very formidable if it is this powerful

Sony recently talked about the PS5 specs with Wired, they confirmed that it would use the Navi GPU and the and the Zen 2 CPU. While Sony remained hush on the clock speeds of both, Benji has given us a look at the potential speed of the PS5.

Benji has now deleted the tweet saying that its the wrong aspect to focus on.

For the sake of comparison,

  • The base PS4 has a 1.84 Teraflop GPU,
  • The PS4 Pro has a 4.2 Teraflop GPU,
  • The base Xbox One has a 1.31 Teraflop GPU,
  • The Xbox One S has a 1.4 Teraflop GPU,
  • The Xbox One X has a 6 Teraflop GPU.

In addition, Google Stadia is said to offer developers 10.7 Teraflops of GPU power for its cloud streaming service.

These are some rather impressive numbers if they do prove true. However, since this is a rumor, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt and skepticism.

While we don’t yet know if the PS5 will utilize NVMe SSD like the Xbox One successor is rumored to, we can hope that it does utilize SSD’s and ultra-fast bandwidth RAM to make sure that the next generation consoles run and startup games like greased lightning.

Load times were still a considerable challenge for this generation of consoles as well. With games like Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and many others still making load times trouble for gamers due to using older hard drives in the system.

We do know that the best time for the PS5 would be Holiday 2020, and not before it. We are also curious if there are going to be any rumors surrounding the new Xbox and what it will be named.
