Microsoft finally launches OneDrive with several new features

Microsoft announced a couple of weeks ago that it will be changing the name of its cloud storage service SkyDrive to OneDrive. And the day has arrived, Microsoft has launched its all new OneDrive today. OneDrive has introduced several new features over previous SkyDrive.

Existing SkyDrive users are all set  and on new sign up, you get the same 7 GB of free storage space and now you get some extra free space by doing some Drop Box like things. You get an extra 500 MB free space on referring to a friend and your friend gets the extra 500 MB as well. You can get up to a total of 5 GB by reference.  Moreover, you get an extra 3 GB of free space by simply turning on the camera uploads on your mobile app.

Mobile app for Android has been updated with option of Automatic Camera uploading. This feature is available on iOS app since November and  now Android version of app gets it too. You have the option to upload using Wi-Fi only or mobile network as well. Moreover you have the option if you want to upload videos as well or not. Other changes to the app include improved support for working with Office Mobile for Android and OneNote, including editing Office documents. And general bug fixes are also there of course.
