Apple is going to unveil new iPhone and a new iPad model this year. We have learnt much about iPhone 6 and upcoming iOS 8. Early this week, some leaked snapshots of iPhone 6 front panel and batteries also emerged. Now, the new iPad Air or iPad Air 2 has also started getting attention.
iPad Air 2 was first leaked through iOS 7.1 update. The update indicated two hidden models of iPad i.e. iPad 4.3 and iPad 4.6. iPad 4.6 indicates a new iPad Mini model while the first one reflects iPad Air 2 (or iPad 6).
iPad Air 2 Details:
Let’s move to some of the details of the new iPad Air. Well, it seems like for the first time, Apple will make use of integrated display in their iPads. Definitely, this will increase the cost. The rumor was leaked by a Dutch site Onemorething.nl recently. The site came up with some of the leaked snapshots that confirms the integrated display being considered for iPad Air 2.
This will definitely make iPad thinner and light weight. Recently, we saw Samsung taunting Apple for not using the latest integrated display technology in a commercial. Have a look on it:
Moreover, Apple is also focusing to increase the size of display. The new iPad Air 2 will come with 12.9-inch display. The display is expected to be 2k or 4k (leaks expected soon).
The story does not end here as Apple will make debut of Touch ID in the new iPad Air model. The touch ID will be same as that was used in iPhone 4S. What else? The new iPad Air model will feature a 8 MP camera, A8 processor, a larger battery and also Bluetooth mouse support.
iPad Air 2 Release:
Apple will release the latest iPad Air model in last quarter of this year after releasing iPhone 6. As we know that iPhone 6 will come in two display sizes i.e. 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. The later one will release in September. Hence, iPad Air 2 will be unveiled in November while the release starting in a week after the announcement.
