How to Downgrade iOS 8 Beta to iOS 7.1.1?

Just 4 days back, Apple got its devices entered in a new era by the announcement of iOS 8 at WWDC. With iOS 8, you can change the default keyboard, use Touch ID for 3rd party apps and lot more. You can find the complete list of features here. On the same day, Apple also begin rolling out the iOS 8 beta version for the developers. However, you can also download the iOS beta from here and install it on your device. But well, this is not RECOMMENDED at all. You may experience issues, may even get your device stopped working. Or in other case, you just want back your public version of iOS 7.1.1 and wait for the official iOS 8 public version. Definitely, this needs you to downgrade iOS 8 Beta!

Downgrade iOS 8 Beta to iOS 7.1.1:

The tutorial is quite simple. All you need is the iOS 7.1.1 firmware for your device. And, restore your device i.e. downgrade iOS 8 Beta through iTunes. The step-by-step guide as follows:

  1. First of all, Download iOS 7.1.1 (Direct Links) for iPhone and iPad
  2. Connect your Apple device with PC or Mac via USB cable
  3. Run iTunes.
  4. Click your Apple device from the Navigation Pane at the left.
  5. You may be prompted to switch off Find my iPhone feature. In that case, head to Settings > iCloud to do so.
  6. Now, it’s time to restore your device. Hold Shift key in Windows (or Alt/Option key in Mac) and click on Restore iPhone button.

  9. Once, you are able to downgrade iOS 8 Beta to iOS 7.1.1, your device will automatically reboot with iOS 7.1.1 firmware.
