The absolute raw processing power of these GPUs has launched us leaps ahead into the technological timeline. According to the CEO and founder of Nvidia, Jensen Huang who was also presenting the conference, the sort of technological advancement that has taken place in the RTX line of GPUs would have only been possible in 10 years had Nvidia progressed at the same pace as they have been till the last gen GPUs. However, naturally a question is being asked around different forums, Can Nvidia Pascal GPUs (GTX 1070, 1080) Support Nvidia RTX Technology? The same technology that is the hallmark of the latest line of GPUs.

Well to cut the answer short, No!. The simple explanation being that RTX technology utilizes special hardware that is only available in the Turing GPUs that have just been announced, so don’t sit around hoping that your last gen Nvidia GPU will handle RTX tech.
