Opera Mini is a widely used web browser for smartphones and tablets. It supports a number of platforms like Android, iOS and Symbian etc. A recent research shows that about 300 million people use Opera Mini as web browsers in their smartphones and tablets. theOpera is widely used for it optimized web surfing. Opera serves pages using compression which results in less data usages and quick internet surfing.
Despite all these facts, currently there is no Opera Mini for Windows Phone 8 and previous series. Opera is struggling alot to overcome chrome and other browsers on other platform but for mobiles it still the best browser to use.
However, recently Opera has announced that it is working on the version of Opera Mini for Windows Phone 8. Here is the reply made to one of the inquiry:
“We are aware that a lot of Windows phone users like you would like to have an Opera browser on their phones. The engineering team at Opera has this on their list. We will announce it as soon as it is ready”
This shows some for the Windows Phone users. It is also revealed that the previous SDK of Windows Phone OS series did not support the Opera Mini. However, Windows Phone 8 is equipped with the development tools to feature the browser Opera Mini. Windows Phone 8 features the support for native code. Thus we can expect Opera Mini for Windows Phone 8 to arrive soon.
