Skullgirls for Nintendo Switch

The beloved 2D fighter Skullgirls for Nintendo Switch has been confirmed by a tweet from an animator at Lab Zero Games from the LZ panel.

The screenshot shows a match of Skullgirls happening on the Nintendo Switch. This is confirmed to be the console version of the game by the same twitter thread in the following tweet:

Skullgirls released in April of 2012 to very positive critical reception. The game was beloved by fans and critics alike for its fast-paced tag-team based action and the amount of care that went into making sure the game was balanced for online play. For example, a single player had more health and did more damage but large teams had character assists and recover health when they are tagged out.

It also has ways to balance things like infinite combo loops and unblockable attacks so they clearly know the issues that plague the general fighting game fan.

The game detects looping combos through monitoring the players attacks, the player can break free of the infinite simply by hitting any button. Unblockable attacks, for example, from a low hitting sweep attack and a high hitting assist attacks making it impossible for the player to block, were remedied by offering a brief period of unblockable protection after successfully blocking an attack.

The game could see an increased online player base now that new life is being breathed into it by the switch release. Players can play Skullgirls for Nintendo Switch competitively now on their Nintendo Switch.
