Samsung 64 bit processor Exynos nearly ready for Galaxy S5

When Apple unveiled 64 bit processing for iOS 7, a new trend came. Within few days of announcement by Apple, Samsung also announced that its new flagship device i.e. Samsung Galaxy S5 will also feature 64 bit processor. Likewise, Intel also promised 64 bit processing for Android smartphones. However here Samsung has moved one step forward.

As reported by Korean media, Samsung 64 bit processor Exynos is almost ready. Although there are still some technical flaws however efforts are being made to work out the flaws.

Coming to the features of Samsung 64 bit processor Exynos i.e. Exynos 6, the processor will be a 14nm chip.  The chip will eight cores. The cores are Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 cores, enabling the use of all cores simultaneously to reduce power consumption up to 50% then the current Exynos 5420. The chip is made on ARM’s big.LITTLE platform, supporting DDR4 memory.

As told earlier, Samsung 64 bit processor Exynos will be the part of Samsung Galaxy S5 expected to come in first quarter of 2014. It will also be the FIRST Android smartphone to utilize 64 bit processing.
