Nvidia Tegra K1 GPU beat Samsung, Apple and Intel’s latest GPUs in first benchmark

Now a days, Mobile Gaming is growing. Big and most demanding games that we were only able to play on Consoles and PC can now be played mobiles too. Big games like Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto series are already available on mobiles. The reason behind such advancement is progress in hardware. Now even mobile hardware is powerful enough to do everything a computer used to do some years ago.

Recently in CES 2014, Nvidia announced its next GPU for mobiles i.e. NVIDIA Tegra K1 and claimed it to be even more powerful than the GPUs in Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. To prove it, Nvidia Tegra K1 goes through its first benchmark and found to be a real power beast.

Here we have the first benchmarking scores. The benchmark was T-Rex 1080p off-screen benchmark. Nvidia Tegra scored 60 frames per second beating its previous Tegra 4’s 16 frames per second score. It also beat Snapdragon 800 chipsets Adreno 330 featured in Samsung Galaxy Note 3 by a significant margin which scored about 24 fps. Apple iPad Air scored 27 fps in this benchmark so Tegra beat it too by about double margin. Now more interesting thing is that Nvidia Tegra K1 even slightly outperformed the Intel HD 4400 and 4200 which are part of the recent Core-i5 APUs got 57 and 47 respectively.
