Twitter profile “Ice Universe” has posted mobile CPU bench scores in which the following mobile CPUs are compared:  Apple A12, SnapDragon 855, Kirin 980. In what seems to be GeekBench Scores, the results are highly interesting, to say the least. The Apple A12 Bionic chip has come on top in the Geek Bench scores proving itself to be the most powerful smartphone CPU currently in the market.

When Apple released its latest iteration of iPhones, they announced that have implemented their newest A12 Bionic chip into the smartphone and claimed that it’s their fastest CPU ever. It appears that that statement may not have been a mere claim as the CPU does score significantly higher than the competition.

The Snapdragon 855 as you can see above lags behind Apple’s latest CPU. It has managed to score 3469 for single-core performance and 10259 for multi-core. The Snapdragon 855 is an 8 core processor with a 7nm architecture. the same is true for Kirin 980 and Apple A12, all the mentioned processors are indeed 7nm and so we have the best of the business going up against each other.

Coming to Kirin 980, Huawei’s highly acclaimed choice of CPU for its flagship phones, is also an 8 Core processor, 7nm and 64 bit. In comparison to Apple A12, it scores significantly low in single and multi-core scores. The Kirin 980 scores 3390 for single core performance and 10318 for multicore performance. In comparison to snapdragon 855, it scores lower in single-core performance but slightly higher in multi-core performance.

It is evident that Apple is ahead of the game and it has really delivered on its claim of A12 being the fastest CPU currently in the mobile market. There is no doubt the A12 is an exceptional chip and yet remains to be rivaled by its competitors.

This is all for now, let us know in the comments what you make of the bench scores.
