Devil May Cry 5 is one of the best games of the year so far and we absolutely loved our time with it. While the RE Engine is a very well optimized engine with tons of settings, some players are getting stutters. Here’s how you can fix the Devil May Cry 5 Stuttering on your PC.

Fix Devil May Cry 5 Stuttering

The method is relatively simple and safe, but we still suggest making a backup of all the files we’ll edit

  • Head over to your main game folder, which should be in
  • Steam/steamapps/common/DMC5
  • Now open the file named “dmc5config.ini”
  • Edit the following sections
  • Capability=DirectX12 to Capability=DirectX11
  • TargetPlatform=DirectX12 to TargetPlatform=DirectX11

The game doesn’t provide the option to change the DirectX version from 12 to 11 and it’s likely causing issues for some GPUs.

Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest drivers for both AMD and NVIDIA as well. Both updates provide performance boosts for Devil May Cry 5. You can download these at the following links
