WhatsApp for iPhone gets updated, brings slow motion video sharing, photo captions and more

The popular messaging platform i.e. WhatsApp has rolled out a major updated to its iOS app. WhatsApp for iPhone is set to receive ‘calling’ feature later this year. However, prior to that, some more features are added to the app.

The update has brought the app to version 2.11.9. WhatsApp for iPhone now enables you to add captions in photos and videos. One great feature is the video-trimming, right from the app. An exclusive iPhone 5S feature is also added i.e. share slow motion videos. Other than that, some new wallpapers and settings are also added. Have a look on the change log of the app at iTunes:

  • Added ability to archive chats and groups
  • Add captions to photos and videos
  • Added fast camera access button for capturing and sending photos
  • You can now share slow-motion videos (iPhone 5s only)
  • You can now trim videos before sharing them
  • Share Location: add support for satellite and hybrid map views when sharing a location
  • Share Location: drop and drag pin lets you share a precise location
  • New media auto-download preferences: Settings > Chat Settings > Media Auto-Download
  • New Wallpapers: Settings > Chat Settings > Chat Wallpapers > Wallpaper Library
  • New Notification tones: Settings > Notifications
  • You can now attach screenshots when reporting problems

So indeed, a big update! The latest WhatsApp for iPhone is now available at App Store. Recently, WhatsApp reached another milestone i.e. 600 million active users. This shows how worthy the service is.
