Users Reporting Issues including Crashing and Flickering after PS4 6.02 Firmware Update

• “It just crashed my entire console trying to download so I had to do it in safe mode. Now I’m good”

• “I updated my PS4 Pro and my screen started flickering after launching a game. I had to boot it up in safe mode as turning off and on didn’t stop the issue. I had to change the resolution to 1080p to stop it from happening, rebuilding the database did not help. If I put it back into 4k and launch a game it begins again has anyone else experienced this? Maybe Pro users need to hold off on the update”

• Our fellow writer also reported that he got a disc drive error Error SU-42118-6, even though it is working fine.

Some of these issues have been solved by simply rebuilding databases or changing color settings, but the disc error code has been redundant.

We’re hoping Sony takes notice of these issues since it’s quite inconvenient for players to face these issues and having to constantly rebuild their databases, or plug their hardware in and our constantly to get some basic functionality after each update.

PS4 recently had an issue with users getting messages that were sending their consoles into boot loops as well

We've since fixed the issue, and it wasn't bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop that can be quickly fixed in under 5 minutes. Delete the message on the PS mobile app, go into Safe Mode, use Option 5, console back to normal. ^DB
