Exclusive: Silent Hills PT number resurfaces, Archillect AI hints major Death Stranding reveal at Game Awards 2018

Death Stranding Leak

What happens when you cross an A.I. that is supposed to post really good art to Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest, a number that only exists in a scrapped title involving Guillermo Del Toro, Norman Reedus and Hideo Kojima, and lastly. The aforementioned A.I has already parked a link to Kojima Productions, currently hard at work on Death Stranding. Want to know more. Lets begin.

Before we begin this exercise in mental gymnastics, let me get the basics out of the way.

All of the information is courtesy of this Reddit thread. I am simply piecing together scattered information. You are advised to take all the information mentioned here with heavy grains of salt.

An Early Peek At The Death Stranding Trailer?

Let’s start at the beginning.

Archillet – The A.I. that loves P.T.

First of all, who or what is Archillet? That question is aptly answered by the websites own About page. Archillect is basically a sophisiticated A.I. designed to find aesthetically pleasing images through social media channels and puts them at a central location. Think of it as a central hub for mood boards.

Now we come  to HOW Archillet gathers these images. Archillect is built on an algorithm that has been given a set of keywords to follow. She uses the keywords to search for images on several variables and uses machine learning to understand if the image she is picking up now fits with the image that she picked last and the one before it.

To bottom-line it, Archillet is a self-sufficient A.I. that independently detects, and highlights images that audiences would find appealing and it has a set algorithm to follow.

As such, When Archillet finds an image it likes, it will post the image in a fixed sequence of numbers:

This is the latest image on the website. 197542. If you click on the image link and go to any of the links below the image with ? being Google Images and succeeded by links 1 , 2 , 3. Basically, Archillet connects content creators to the right audience. Now let’s keep 197542 in mind and go to the future. Let’s go to 204863. If the number sounds familiar, its because the number is borrowed from P.T. If you alter the URL to any other number between 204860 to 69, you are taken back to the site’s homepage. By now you will have clicked on 204863 and now find yourself on the Kojima Productions front page. The studio is currently hard at work on only 1 game. Death. Stranding.

Funny enough, Archillect also recently posted this image. This is the Ludens. The mascot for Kojima Productions. This is image 197545 on Archillect.

204863 – What does it mean?

For those of you familiar, P.T is short for Playable Teaser. It was released in 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation Store. It was a cryptic puzzle game where you roam the same hallway endlessly until you solve an intricate puzzle to unlock the ending of the demo. You are then shown Norman Reedus walking into a blanket of fog. It was then announced that P.T was going to be a reboot of the Silent Hill IP named Silent Hills. It was going to have Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima at the helm of the game, with Norman Reedus as the protagonist.

Unforunately, there was a massive fallout between the management of Konami and Hideo Kojima which led to the project being canceled. From then on Sony came to the rescue and hired Kojima to make Death Stranding into a reality. Bringing Guillermo Del Toro and Norman Reedus along for the ride, but also expanded to Mads Mikkelsen and other famous celebrities as characters in the game.

The numbers were translated by internet sleuths when P.T was at its prime. It basically is the Japanese language decoded into numbers. If you have played P.T you will know that this is the next part of solving the game.

204863 translates to ofuroba miyo which in English becomes “Look at The Bathtub“.

This is where things get interesting.

How did Archillet, already dedicate a URL that redirects to Kojima Productions? Wayback machine states that the entry is very recent. As of October 27th.

Another interesting thing to note is Archillect work is commonly retweeted by Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley.

A noted member of the subreddit, CTSG, has been thoroughly investigating an ARG that spans 4 years. He mentions getting a letter for following some coordinates that lead to Austria.CSTG Solving The Letter

This is the letter that CSTG mentions in the post.

LetterYou can see that CSTG refers 204863.com. The website has a private WHOIS and has been updated frequently since then. It recently got an update sometime on the 23rd of October to show the current image on the site right now.

A real life ARG has been around for 4 years now.

It was recently discovered that 204863.com has no affiliation 7780’s studio, Sony, Konami or Kojima Productions. It does, however, have an affiliation with GHCS Video Gaming Blog. The only Google result relevant to GHCS is Gamer Headquarters Secret Strategy. Whether or not this is the same GHCS is not confirmed, but they’re the only place where the abbreviation fits at the moment.

Undream.net is a site that belongs to Pak. The owner of Archillect. Meaning he has a hand to play in the URL redirect.

The Big Surprise?

Let’s circle back to Archillect. I posted 197542 in the above image, and our target image is 204863. While it is difficult to do the math yourself, Reddit did it for you. Based on users BEST GUESSES. They predict that the link can go live as early as December 15th, 2018 or as late as December 19th, 2018. There is only one event of significance that is taking place in this timeline.

Are we for in another big surprise from Kojima?

The 2018 Video Game Awards. Why is this special? It was at the 2012 Video Game Awards that Joakim Morgen of Moby Dick Studios first Unveiled ‘The Phantom Pain’. The ruse didn’t last long as internet sleuths saw past the ruse and quickly figured out that The Phantom Pain was secretly Metal Gear Solid V.

Hideo Kojima has always made appearances at the Video Game Awards with 2015 being the only exception since Konami blacklisted Kojima. Geoff and Kojima are best of pals and this is where Kojima is BOUND to show some new Death Stranding footage. Whether its a trailer, a teaser, a reveal, or ANYTHING.

Even More?

It is worth mentioning that on all the radios you find in tents in MGS V, they will all play the radio broadcast in P.T. For Metal Gear Solid V to get an update at the same time as a mystery update for P.T the game, the infamous number of the game being made usable on a website, and then the site of the number ALSO being updated is too much of a coincidence.

For now, there are too many coincidences happening here for us form a solid conclusion. We do know that Kojima WILL attend the 2018 Video Game Awards, and Kojima has previously shown trailers at VGA 2016 and 2017.

What we could gain from this knowledge however, is that Kojima might reveal a teaser image for the eventual December 16th Trailer for Death Stranding. According to the calculations of Reddit users, the URL can go live at any time between December 15th and 19th. So this could mean that the image goes live on the day or the day before the reveal.

The most unique thing about this years VGA will have to be all the connections that P.T is suddenly making. Kojima does have a history of trolling his fans.

Fans were led to believe that Solid Snake would be the protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2, up until the game was released and every one met Raiden.

In Metal Gear Solid 3, Big Boss has Raidens face as a wearable at the prologue of the game.

Hideo Kojima flat out denied any ties to The Phantom Pain while the game was speculated to be the work of Joakim Morgen and Moby Dick Studios.

Are we setting ourselves up for the biggest prank in video game history? Knowing HIdeo Kojima, it wouldn’t be uncharacteristic of him to surprise us as such.
