Paladins Cross-Play Enabled for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch with PS4 Left Out

Paladins is to Overwatch what Fortnite is to PlayerUnknown BattleGrounds. The paid version of the game does not offer cross-play and doesn’t seem to have the prospect of getting it anytime soon. It was only a few months ago we rejoiced in the sweet Victory Royale of Fortnite opening its doors to cross-play to allow the console to connect with Nintendo and Microsoft players from all over the world. It seems that Paladins Cross-Play will soon be enabled for 3 of the 4 major platforms that the game is available on.

Paladins Cross-Play is Now Enabled. Are you game?

Paladins is a mixed bag for many people. While criticized to be very similar to Overwatch in terms of hero abilities, and lack of originality, the game offers the advantage of being available on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, which is a superb port of the game. Overwatch might be on the PC, PS4 and the Xbox One but the lack of cross-play and the competitive price of the game on their platforms makes it a game where one has to debate a purchase.

Since its launch on the Nintendo Switch, Paladins players have been able to cross-play with Xbox One players with PC players left out of the mix, but it seems that now PC players are in on the fun too. Unfortunately, we see a repeat of history here as PS4 is absent from the list of supported platforms.

The benefit of cross-play means that friends on different platforms can now play together in parties and join in on the fun together. Unlike Fortnite, Paladins is a vastly polished port in terms of FPS and has consistent frames paired with superb visuals to boot.

Whether or not Sony will buckle under the pressure from Paladins players on the PS4 is still the million dollar question. The PS4 is undoubtedly home to some superb exclusives but when it comes to playing nice with other platforms, Sony will have to learn to make friends in this field.

Cross-Play is available as of Patch 2.01 which is antitcipated to roll out by the mid of January 2019. Let us know your thoughts on the change and if you are looking forward to playing with friends.
