ICE Computer’s Modular xPC: the next generation Laptops, Tablets and crowd funding Gamble

ICE Computer’s first Modular Design first come up by the ASUS in CES 2014 where they introduced their ASUS Transformation Book TD-300. Now, ICE Computer introduces their next generation laptops i.e. Modular xPC that looks similar to the ASUS Transformation Notebook. This notebook is getting for its prime time when the company took it to the Indiegogo, there it set a $300,000 crowd funding goal that can make Modular xPC result into its production. The idea of Modular xPC is will be many devices in one.

Now to tell whats inside of this Modular xPC, the xPad 10.1-inch tablet dock turns into a mini desktop when attached to its body. The company talks about the other peripheral devices like the xTop which can be better understand by the word an “External Storage”. Moreover, the xKeyboard and other external devices but as these things are not mentioned anywhere therefore we can just say that it will be made later.

The open connector architecture from a third party encouraged Modular xPC to make other docks and peripheral devices that will work in the upcoming generation of xPC. For now, though an xPC with Windows 8 installed, July shipping estimate is going for a price of $369. It’s not too exact figure when you’re essentially betting on an underdeveloped ecosystem. Further we must now discuss its specification and features that can make the Modular xPC more exciting for the users:
