  • Open run in Windows, by either searching for it in the search bar or press the “Windows key + R“
  • Now type in the following to open the game’s save file location
%localappdata%/Gears5/Saved/Config/PC
  • Under ScalabilityGroups, fine sg.AudioQuality=3
  • Save the file and exit

That’s all you’ll need to do for the muffled sound to be fixed. Users have confirmed that this method seems to have fixed their issues in the game.
