Sega has announced House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn for Arcades. The first entry came back in 1996, a first-person light arcade franchise known for its operatives teaming up against hordes of biologically engineered mutants. The games make use of the light gun in arcades but can be played with controllers or mouse for the PC ports, move controllers on PS4 can also be utilized for the games released on the PlayStation. With over 15 titles including spin-offs, House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn will be making it’s way to arcades this year.

House of the Dead is a very prominent franchise, especially in the arcades medium, it has countless spin-offs, mobile ports, home console ports and even 2 feature films, it’s still quite successful in Japan, where arcades are well and alive, and with Unreal Engine 4 being used, the franchise is definitely going in the right direction.
