Fallout Capital Wasteland mod is a project undertaken by dedicated fans of the franchise to recreate the entirety of Fallout 3 in Fallout 4 using mods. That is a massive and commendable task to accomplish. The Project started with the first update on their official website back in April of 2017. They updated the page monthly until at one point, after January 2018, the project went silent on the website. Exactly one year after their January 2018 update, Fallout Capital Wasteland mod is now back in development with a brand new January 2019 update!
The new update reveals the reason why the project went silent:
Back in March of last year we communicated with Bethesda regarding our planned method to implement the voice acting and other audio from Fallout 3 into the Capital Wasteland. As you might already be aware, we were informed that our planned approach would raise some serious red flags and so after a few discussions amongst our team we decided it would be best to put the project on hold.
The founder of the project then went on to highlight how having to stop on a project that they were extremely passionate about led to depression. However, this did not stop them. The amazing team working on Fallout Capital Wasteland mod decided that with the help of their voice acting lead Unoctium, they would re-voice all 45,000 lines from Fallout 3. They are currently looking for Voice Actors, Level Designers, 3D Artists, 2D Artists, Animators, Environment Artists, and VFX Artists. You can contact them here.
