Everspace 2 is finally out on PC via Steam and GOG. This is a fast-paced single-player spaceship shooter from ROCKFISH Games. It is currently available as an early access title, and over the course of this period it will be optimized, and new content will be added. Players interested in the complete game should wait it out because it will be at least a year till you see 1.0. If you want to access your save files, here is the Everspace 2 Save Game location.

Now, one of the biggest changed in gameplay this time around is the lack of rogue-like elements. This is a proper RPG styled game, and features tons of customization, quests, and areas to explore. Players will go through a full story campaign as well, and more content will be added overtime. Players can expect at least 25 hours of gameplay in the current build.

Now, accessing save files can be done for a variety of reasons, and currently, you can’t delete save games from the in-game menu. The developers have discussed the possibility of adding this feature in future updates. For now, if you want to backup, or even delete your current save files, you can head over to the following location.

C:\Users\{YOUR_USERNAME}\AppData\Local\ES2\Saved\SaveGames

Keep in mind that each file with “Auto” in them are the autosaves. To load a save file, both the data and preview file are needed. This location is the same for both the Steam and GOG version. Since the game is out currently on just PC, this is the only location for saves.

Many games benefit from the early access model, and we have seen plenty of titles that have been reviewed very well. Other titles that previously used the early access model include Hades, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire and Risk of Rain 2. All of these are highly rated on Steam and have won many awards over the years. Everspace 2 is shaping up to be another very good title.
