Samsung Apple Patent Wars, Apple leads 2-0

The war of patent rights has been dragged from so much time now. But Samsung and Apple are still going full-on on each other. Just now the big news is that Apple has again won the 2nd patent war against Samsung. The US court has found Samsung mortified of infringing on two of Apple’s patents and the company now has to pay a total of $119,625,000, which are the damages Apple had adhered. There is still an issue regarding to Galaxy S II which is yet to be settled, and technically the final amount will increase.

Although this is not the way Apple had thought it would work. Apple had claimed for infringement of 5 rather than 2. The company asked for a total of $2.2 billion for the damages but the court only found Samsung guilty of two patents and thus fining them likely.

The patent are of two features, the quick link features that produces links for numbers and URLs in messages. And the other is the slide-to-unlock feature. Both are described under patent 647 and 721 respectively.

All of this was one side of the story and the other is yet to be disclosed. Apple has also pay a little amount of money for infringing one of Samsung’s patent, relating to organizing the gallery. Although the company was charged of two patents rather than one. Apple has to pay Samsung a total of $158,400.

To be completely frank, the worth of the amount means nothing to either of the companies. But for Apple it has always been more of a goal or more of a vendetta to tell Samsung who’s the boss around here. But with this condition, Apple is in no condition to do so.
