While Norman Reedus accidentally confirming the 2019 release date could be a slip of tongue during a podcast but did Troy Baker just hint at a 2019 Release Date for Death Stranding? Upon taking the new #10yearchallenge, Troy reflected on how in 2009 he was the voice of Snow Villiers for Final Fantasy XIII and how in 2019 he is lending his vocal talent to “The Man in the Golden Mask” in Hideo Kojima’s latest project, Death Stranding.
Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first project after leaving Konami. The game is being made in partnership with Sony and is powered by the DECIMA engine, which is made by Guerilla Games and was first used for Horizon Zero Dawn.
The game has an all-star cast of TV show and movie personalities. Prominent names like Mads Mikkelsen, Guillermo Del Toro, Norman Reedus, Lindsay Wagner, Lea Seydoux, Emily O’Brien, and other famous stars are lending their likeness and vocal talents to deliver what could be Kojima’s biggest triumph yet.
A 2019 Release Date for Death Stranding – A Silent Faulty Feeling?
While there have been constant hints being that could suggest a 2019 release date for Death Stranding, is Troy Baker teasing fans at this point or is there something more? While his character was revealed in a 2018 trailer, the game is definitely his most influential project currently under his belt.

Troy was undertaking the 10-year challenge which had people posting photos from 2009 and 2019, Troy decided to join in on the fun with a twist – using his most recognized video game character from those years.
While this is in no way a confirmation of the game coming in 2019, we are going to have to wait for more solid information to come through. Considering Sony is not going to appear at this years E3, Hideo will also not be showing any new trailer at the upcoming expo. Whatever Hideo will show will be at an event where Sony will also be present.
