RUMOR: Donna Burke Teasing New Metal Gear Solid Project

Donna Burke was an immense part of Metal Gear Solid 5. She contributed her vocal talents to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s soundtrack, best known for her performance of Sins of the Father. The soundtrack would go on to become the face of the game.

Could this be a New Metal Gear Solid?

2015 saw the release of the last game Hideo Kojima and Konami would ever make together. The same year was also a time we witnessed a fallout between the two titans of the gaming industry. We thought that with the departure of Hideo Kojima from Konami, Metal Gear Solid would be a buried franchise like Silent Hill. 2018’s Metal Gear Survive may have shown us that it could be the case.

Donna Burke has a rather mysterious tweet pinned. She uses a signature line of the series – “Kept you waiting huh?”

The tweet shows us her working with a sound engineer, and the track appears to have a lot of screaming. Similar to her performance in Sins of the Father.

While the last thing any fan wants is a sequel to Metal Gear Survive, we can certainly hope that there is something in the pipeline for Metal Gear Solid fans to look forward to.

With E3 arriving in June 2019, all eyes are on video game companies to showcase the last games to define this generation of consoles. We already know Sony has a 2020 launch window for their PS5, so perhaps 2019 will be the last year for the Xbox One and the PS4.

We can’t say anything for certain for Microsoft or Nintendo in the console future, but we can hope that Konami has something good to show at the upcoming gaming conference. The last time Konami released a good game was Hideo Kojima’s swansong with the company.

Whether or not Donna’s tease actually amount to anything significant is still a mystery, we will have to wait and see what happens and when it happens.

Let us know in the comments section on what you’re hoping for? Metal Gear Solid 5: Pochinko or perhaps a remaster of an earlier game in the series?
