The Tech industry has been speculating and anticipating Nvidia’s next line of Geforce graphics cards for a while now. As the anticipation builds up, leaks and rumors are bound to surface online. Just today, Nvidia GTX 1170 Potential Benchmark Scores Leaked on the internet, we say potential because the scores are a little dubious and we will tell you why.

The benchmark was first leaked on a website by the name of WccfTech. WccfTech maintains that they spotted the leak on a polish website. Now to start off, the leak seems a little fishy considering that the leak mentions the name GTX 1170 and not some generic code name like other prerelease bench scores do.

However, it may be that the Nvidia GTX 1170 in question had proper driver support in which case the actual name could possibly be shown. Brushing all that aside and reaching for that salt sprinkler, we move on and look at the actual leaks.

According to the screenshot above, the Nvidia GTX 1170 would feature a whopping 16 GB of VRAM along with an impressive 2.5 GHz clock speed which is honestly the highest we have ever seen on any Volta or Pascal GPU in the past.

If the leak is to be believed to represent a genuine GTX 1170 then it fares against previous cards as shown above.

The GeForce GTX 1170 scores a score of 29,752 on 3DMark FireStrike placing it above GTX 1080Ti. Judging from this, the GTX 1070 might as well be the upcoming GTX 1080ti killer as was expected by many people. We can only imagine the monstrosity that the GTX 1180 and 1180 Ti graphics cards would be.

Now, all that being said we must remind you again that this whole affair is surrounded by red flags. We couldn’t track down the benchmark score in 3DMark’s database and that on its own is very suspicious. Faking these leaks aren’t at all that complex, it is fairly easy and anyone can do it.

With that being said, we do expect high-end specs from the upcoming 1100 line of Nvidia Geforce graphics. In the table below, courtesy of our friends over at wccftech, a comparison of what is expected of the upcoming GTX 1170 can be seen against current gen GTX 1070.
