The rocket launch of Fortnite was a huge phenomenon among gamers. Since then cracks in the Fortnite Map have begun to appear. At first, there was only a huge crack in the sky and some rifts in the fabric of space and time here and there along the map. However, now there are a lot of cracks in reality and the map has been changed drastically.
Cracks in the Fortnite Map
Every day the density of the cracks increase and some major parts of the map are being destroyed. Here you can see how the crack in the sky changed over a period of time.

This change in the Fortnite Map has to be a stepping stone for Season 5, which is right around the corner. Here are the screenshots showcasing all the locations where the cracks are present:
Rift # 1 – The sign at Lonely Lodge
A crack appeared at the large hall at Lonely Lodge on July 1, the day after the rocket launch. There was a flicker for a moment, then suddenly a crack opened, which sucked in the sign with the inscription “Lonely Lodge”.
Rift # 2 – The sign at the motel
The second crack appeared on the sign of the Motel on July 2, 2018. Furthermore, a flicker was briefly seen, and shortly after, the motel sign was gone. All that’s left is the crack.
Rift # 3 – The Tomato Head at Tomato Town
The Tomato Head, the main attraction of Tomato Town was also swallowed by the rift on the 3rd of July.
Rift # 4 – The “Noms” sign on Retail Row
The destructive cracks continued their work and on the 4th of July caught another sign: the nameplate of the “Noms” grocery store in Retail Row.
Rift # 5 – mountainside behind Greasy Grove
The mountainside has not been covered in cracks as of yet. As there was nothing near the mountainside for the crack to consume it did not appear as it did in other locations. However, something caused the rift to change and it spat out a ship anchor. And that’s all we know.
Rift # 6 – The “Durr Burger” Shield at Greasy Grove
According to what we have seen the cracks seem to appear mostly on signs. And even more on signs that are related to food. On the 5th of July, a rift appeared on the sign of the fast food restaurant “Durr Burger” at Greasy Grove.
What’s interesting about this one is that it was sucked in from Greasy Grove and was somehow found in the California desert. As you can see below someone found it and posted its picture on twitter.

In any case, Epic Games is doing there best to keep Fortnite: Battle Royale as fresh as ever. Whether it is the speculation of rumors for the new season, new skins, or sending items from the Fortnite Universe to the Real World.
Fortnite: Season 5
The cracks in the Fortnite Map seem to be targeting landmarks and signs. And as a matter of fact, major places like Lonely Lodge have lost their signboards. Hence, this could mean two things, either there will be a major map change in Season 5 or time travel will be possible. Presently these are only rumors.
