Intel brings 64-bit kernel to support next-generation Android devices

It was Apple which brought the idea of 64-bit processing for its devices. The introduction of iPhone 5S running on iOS 7, operating on 64-bit chip proved it. This open the gate to some more developments and enhancements. Seeing this, how can other competitors be left behind?

First of all, Samsung announced to make a 64-bit processor which it recently unveiled at MWC 2014. Later, one of the major chipset maker, Intel also made the announcement. Intel announced to bring 64-bit support for Android.

It seems that Intel is now finally done with its announcement. Now, Intel brings 64-bit kernel for Android 4.4 KitKat. The 64-bit kernel will lead to the creation of eco-system that will witness the development of apps and games operating on 64-bit framework.

Not only this, Intel will also make sure toupdate its 64-bit kernel to add regular support to changes in Android code. This will help developers to make new enhanced next generation devices having latest Android versions. Imagine an Android device operating on MORE THAN 3 GB OF RAM and latest GPUs, this will only be possible by a 64-bit Android version on 64-bit kernel.
