Google is well known for their many Easter eggs that they take time and effort into placing in each of their relative services. Whether it’s their annual April Fools jokes, or hidden secrets in the Android OS. There is a neat surprise is in Google Assistant Halloween Easter Egg to help you get set for the Halloween season, and it’s especially useful if you have Google Home and/or a Chromecast.

The Google Assistant is now on a large number of devices, from Android 5.1 and above. It allows users to carry out actions, queries, and other useful actions which they otherwise can’t because of being far away from their phone, driving, or any number of reasons.

The Google Assistant has a sinister side to it too if you are brave enough to dare it. A couple of Reddit users have also had a tough time in efforts to stop Google Assistant from haunting them but unfortunately were unable to.

The trick works with simply calling your Google Assistant, whether you do it by ‘Hey Google’ or ‘Okay Google’ if you still haven’t gotten the new command prompt.

There are several variations of the command, but the most common commands are:

  • Haunt my house.
  • Let’s get spooky.

If you do get enough of Google Assistant haunting your humble abode, you can simply instruct Google to stop haunting by:

  • Stop.
  • Stop being spooky.

Although there have been some hilarious results when some Reddit users tried and failed to stop Google Assistant.

As you can see, this is a pretty neat easter egg for the season. Albeit it is all the more fun if you have Google Chromecast and Google Home to truly give you the feel for it.

Keep in mind that the easter egg has reported misbehaving, so you may need to reset your home settings if any such as your hue and harmony hubs.

Be that as it may, this is a really fun way to mess with your friends or family if you have control over the Google devices in your residence! It would also help you set the tone for a good Halloween house if you are hosting a party.

From all of the holiday Easter eggs that Google has sported for us these last few months, this is by far my most favorite!

Considering the power of Google Home and Chromecast, I can’t wait to see what Google has in store for us when they combine the two devices together for Christmas.
