If you remember the 90s then you surely remember the classic GoldenEye 007 game that came out in 1997 on the Nintendo 64 gaming console. It was a simpler time back then when 3d games had just arrived on the spot and more emphasis was placed on story and gameplay. GoldenEye 007 is the embodiment of such a game where the gameplay was so fun you could barely stop playing. Today, we have an early gameplay footage from GoldenEye 007 remake being developed by GoldenZen using the Unreal Engine 4.

I was pleasantly surprised that there weren’t any mentions of the remake since GeldenEye 007 is such a memorable game. While the project is in early stages and the footage doesn’t look pristine I think we should still encourage such ventures by modders who take up the jobs of professional developers to give us a taste from our childhood.

GoldenEye 007 Remake Is In Development Using Unreal Engine 4

The remake of the classic 007 game is called “GoldenEye 25”. It is being developed by GoldenZen in collaboration with independent modders. No time frame has been given by the team working on the game as to when it will be finished but we have some gameplay footage that will give you an idea of what to expect. From the looks of the footage, it seems that the developers are staying true to the original.

GoldenEye 007 was a turning point in what would become the modern first-person shooter genre. While the game didn’t introduce the genre it certainly built on the previous games and introduced new concepts. GoldenEye remake is in nascent stages right now and we hope that the developers get to finish the game so we can relive our childhood.

GoldenEye 007 Remake Early Gameplay footage

Below you can watch three videos which show the early gameplay of the game.

As you can see the game looks rudimentary right now and the graphics aren’t something to write home about, however, we are glad that the camera work and player movement has stayed true to the classic. A big aspect of the original GoldenEye game was the dynamic music as most would agree. Good news is that the remake will incorporate the same chilling music that adds to the experience immensely. They have also added weapon sway physics and we are sure more improvements are to follow.

This is it for now, watch the videos and let us know in the comment what you think of the project.
