Battle Royale games have been sharing features since these became prominent as a genre. Various features have been used in not only battle royale games, but other multiplayer games as well. The most recent example being the excellent pinging system from Apex Legends being employed in Fortnite. Now it seems that Epic might be adding another feature from Apex Legends, called Fortnite Skydive Leader.

The pinging system of Apex Legends has been universally praised, and many games over the past few months have employed some version of it in their games.

The piece of code basically confirms that a feature with Skydrive leader as the title is being added to Fortnite. If you’re unfamiliar with how this feature, which is called Jumpmaster, works, here’s the gist of it.

One of your teammates is randomly selected as the leader who can control the drop direction of the squad, and other teammates can opt-out of following the specific dive pattern the said leader is choosing.

During this, other team members can also ping locations, and the leader can opt-out as being the jumpmaster as well.

While we’re unsure what kind of implementation Fortnite will have of this feature, but this piece of code pretty much confirms that a similar feature is going to be added.

This feature, in general, is pretty nice and helps in co-ordinate between team members, and we’d like to see it added in other battle royale games as well.

What do you make of this? Would you like this feature to be added in Fortnite? Let us know in the comments below and share your thoughts.
