Okay so, the wait is finally over as Valve now officially revealed the dates for the new Dota 2 ranked season, new patch 7.21 and Mars. Honestly, I did not expect Valve would release the new patch this late but it’s better than not revealing anything.
Dota 2 Patch 7.21 coming next week with New Ranked Season
For the last couple of months, we have been hearing rumors and speculations about the new ranked season and the new hero Mars. Most of the people said the ranked season will come along with Mars which is why the update is taking so long. Now, all of the rumors have been debunked as the official news was announced through the Twitter account of Dota 2 last night. According to the tweet,
The new ranked season is coming next week, and alongside it a balance focused 7.21 patch. We are aiming to release Mars sometime between the end of February and early March.

Have a look at the very first image with Crystal Maiden face, I think along with the update we might expect a Crystal Maiden rework but it could also be a random image of CM on the internet. It has been more than 6 months since the second matchmaking season was released and fans have been getting anxious about the third season. The announcement does confirm the new update but we still do not know the exact date. It could be released on two possible dates. The first one is after the end of Chongqing Major (on either Sunday/Monday) or it could be released on Friday since most of the updates get released on Friday.
Valve did announce that Mars will be released in Winter but nobody expected it to be this late. I think Valve should take the sweet time to make the hero as polished as possible to avoid bugs, glitches which might upset the community as He gets released. I would rather wait for a delayed, carefully made hero than a rushed release which could end up breaking the game. Now we have to just a little bit more and as the elders say,
“Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet”
What we can expect from Patch 7.21?
The new patch 7.20 was released on 19th November and so far 4 minor patches in alphabetic order were released to balance the game out. So far, the players are having blast in the game and we can expect some minor nerfs to some abilities which might be overpowered according to some users and we can also expect buffs to some heroes and probably some items.
