While we know that the Black Ops 4 reveal is imminent in the month of May, we still have little to no clue on the game outside of rumors and speculation with some popular theories pointing out that the game could be taking a direction towards making a complete multiplayer experience that will include a Battle Royale game mode ala Fortnite or PUBG, and then there are also whispers of the Call of Duty series losing the single player campaigns to focus on the multiplayer aspects of their games exclusively, which has been a staple of the series since its inception.
While Black Ops 4 Reveal Event Invitation are going out to select influencers and other prominent personalities in the gaming industry, it is still curious what lies in wait for the series future, there are currently a lot of whispers surrounding the future of the series and the direction that can lead.

While the reveal trailer of the game asked us to forget everything we know, perhaps this could be a hint to something bigger and maybe give the series a reboot with regard to story just like movies tend to do, but it can also mean that a lot of the speculations or rumors can hold some degree of truth to them.
While Black Ops 4 will definitely have a lot of eyes on it come E3, a lot of hype will depend on the direction of the series in the coming weeks and whether or not the series will choose to stay true to the legacy of a campaign or completely allocate all human resources exclusively towards multiplayer
