Alien: Blackout Is Amanda Ripley’s Next Adventure … On Mobile

2014 was a memorable year for Alien in gaming. It was the first time in the history of the IP that it got a game that truly lived up to the promise of a true Alien game. Many people were first skeptical of a studio that handled turn-based strategy games exclusively to make a horror game, but Creative Assembly delivered a game that will go down in the pages of history. If you thought Alien Blackout was going to be the next big thing in the series … well, you should all be happy you have phones then.

Alien: Blackout – We ALL have phones

While Alien: Blackout comes to us as a pleasant surprise, it really isn’t one that gamers were expecting. Alien Blackout is going to be the next entry in the Alien series that is going to take place on mobile. The game is being developed by D3GO, the same developers are also behind “Marvel Puzzle Quest,” and “Magic the Gathering – Puzzle Quest.” on the mobile.

About the game:

The games official description from the website reads as follows:

The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout. Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.

Alien: Blackout is a unique fear-inducing horror mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant.

You can see that it gives off a strong vibe similar to that of “This War of Mine”. The story suggests that the game isn’t necessarily a sequel to Isolation but also takes place on a damaged Weyland Yutani space station. So perhaps the game takes place during the events or just ignores Isolation completely. Considering this is a mobile game, It isn’t necessary for the developers to give much thought to the story. Hopefully, they do make some appealing case for the game in the form of multiple endings or other components to encourage fans to try the game out.

The game is said to be coming out very soon and it will be available on the Google PlayStore, Apple App Store and the Amazon App Store.
