The game is headed to PS4 on 12th December 2019 in Japan and will release worldwide in Spring next year, 2020.

First copies of the game will also include a PS4 theme, with both some key-art of the main game and track from the original soundtrack.

A limited-edition for the game will also be available and include a soundtrack CD with over 60 tracks from the entire franchise. There will also be a 72-page artbook included in the limited edition.

A deluxe edition for the game is also planned, that will contain the same content, but in digital form. The game is set 12 years after the events of the previous entry, and we’re excited to see what the game will offer in the franchise.

While the game has been currently announced for the PS4, we wouldn’t be surprised if SEGA releases it on Steam eventually as well. SEGA has been actively releasing their games on PC as well, and consider it a viable platform.

The game is being developed on the Hedgehog Engine 2 and directed by Tetsuya Ootsubo.

Recent Yakuza remakes have also made their way to Steam, and it just goes to show that PC is just a viable platform as consoles for Japanese games, and there’s a very big audience craving this content.
