First Batch of Original Xbox Backwards Compatible Games Leaked

The first of the Original Xbox Backwards Compatible Games are here, are you excited?

While the Xbox One’s biggest selling point is offering backward compatibility for the Xbox 360 library, it was only a while ago that Microsoft confirmed there would be some Original Xbox Backwards Compatible games in the offering too.

While Microsoft was completely hushed about the matter, the famous leaker by the handle of WalkingCat‏ (@h0x0d) who leaked the recent Samsung Gear VR, along with some of Microsoft’s more newer products such as the Surface Laptop and the Surface Book 2, has just posted a screenshot which appears to be the first look at the first wave of Original Xbox Backwards Compatible Games.

Original Xbox Backwards Compatible Games:

If you are curious about the games that are being offered, here they are:

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Dead to Rights
  • Red Faction 2
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • King of Fighters Neowave
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Pirates
  • Psychonauts
  • Bloodrayne
  • Grabbed by Ghoulies.

This is indeed a superb lineup to kick off one of the most memorable generations, with Microsoft offering a good variety of games that are otherwise not accessible to players.

It is surprising that there are a lot of better games missing in the list such as the original Halo, which would surely make for a better introduction of the announcement, but you can’t have everything, right?

Albeit there is a lot of value in the majority of these games such as Psychonauts, Bloodrayne, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is alone worth the wait, as they are prominent members of their respective genres!

Say Good Bye to Retro Old Xbox:

If you happen to own an Xbox One and looking to get more retro value out of your console, you can finally retire any OG Xbox you were previously using, as Microsoft has got a long-term plan for adding more games into the mix, just like how they are handling the current addition of Xbox 360 games to be made compatible!

While there is still no official word, and the leaker has been on the mark for previous leaks in the past, this is still a rumor. It is better to take this with a pinch of salt to it, but considering the past and credibility of the poster, it is quite difficult to dismiss this.
