Official Rage 2 system requirements have been finally revealed by Bethesda. Rage 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by Avalanche Studios in partnership with id software. The game will soon be published by Bethesda Softworks. Rage 2 is scheduled for release on 14th May this year across PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Following the release of the system requirements, we now know that players will need at least an Intel Core i5-3570 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X CPU with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or an AMD R9 280 3GB. The minimum specs don’t appear unreasonable considering that this is indeed a new game with top tier visuals.
As for the recommended specs, Bethesda recommends that players should have an Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X CPU with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Vega 56 8GB graphics card. It is interesting to note that the amount of RAM does not change between the minimum and recommended specs.
I am hoping that the recommended specs are in relevance to a 60 fps 1080p goal since the publisher did not explicitly mention the graphics settings nor the expected fps. The 1070 8GB is quite a powerful GPU still and I think it is fair to expect a stable 60 fps on somewhat high settings.
