Metal Wolf Chaos XD was as Xbox game developed by FROMSOFTWARE, that came out 15 years ago and was available exclusively in Japan. Now the game has been re-released on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam. if you’re looking on how to enable Metal Wolf Chaos XD Borderless Windowed Mode, here’s what you have to do.

Enable Metal Wolf Chaos XD Borderless Windowed Mode

Borderless windowed mode is a very popular display mode in video games. To enable this mode for Metal Chaos Wolf XD on PC, here’s what you’ll have to do

  • Head over to the folder containing the configuration files, which is “<path to game>save” for Windows and “<Steam Folder>/steamapps/compatdata/820630/pfx/” for Linux
  • Open mwcxd.ini with any text editor, like Notepad.
  • Find “Mode” and set the value to 1 for Fullscreen and 2 for Borderless Windows
  • Save and exit the file

That’s all you need to do to enable borderless windowed mode on PC. The setting should have been available in the settings, but sadly there isn’t an option.

The game runs at 30 FPS, which is a shame, but this is a remaster of a 15-year-old game, so things like this were expected.
