Since the phone is going to cost a mere 80 USD, it is fair not to expect any miracles when it comes to specs. Xiaomi Redmi Go is your run of the mill, 5-inch display, 720p resolution smartphone. It has a quad-core Snapdragon 425 (28 nm), 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM with the option to expand via MicroSD.
As you can see the specs are utterly basic and the phone seems to be oriented towards emerging markets. That single GB of RAM really calls into question the multitasking capability of the phone but at this point, you know what this phone is, so expecting anything more is delusional.
Xiaomi Redmi GOAs for the body, the front has a sizeable chin and bezels. The phone looks reminiscent of a standard Android smartphone from 2015. It has a single camera and a flash on the back. Needless to say, the body is constructed from plastic.
All in all, for around 80 USD, this phone is perfect for those consumers who just want the basic functionality of an Android smartphone.
