in a surprise turn of events, it seems that Sony is giving select PSN users Free Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds DLC, which is the only story-related DLC for the game.

Horizon Zero Dawn was a PlayStation exclusive that launched earlier this year, it met with a ton of praise, sold very well and also was well recieved by the critics and the player base, praising it for the graphics, story, mechanics, and other overall superb presentation.

Albeit the game was a Game of the Year for many people, but the crown was rightfully taken by the Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild, and the game went on to sweep several awards for itself.

According to some early reports starting at hotukdeals, there are reports that Sony is giving out free codes to select PSN users, with the initial report coming from the EU.

According to dragonball_lee108, the one who made the post states they never actually owned the game, but borrowed a copy from a friend and just beat the game, this doesn’t necessarily help mention that if having a platinum in the game will help with the chances of getting the code.

While a free code for the DLC is always welcome, there are still no details on whether the promotion is region specific or global, but if Sony does decide to give the code to players who earned the platinum of the game, it might actually help give incentive for players to spend more time with Sony games as Sony is known to give Platinum exclusive themes to players who do go the extra mile for getting the platinum trophy in certain games like Bloodborne.

I am refreshing my inbox in hopes of getting the code for myself, but let us know in the comments section below if you have gotten the code or hoping to get it.
