Microsoft Launches Android App to Manage its Azure Cloud Platform

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft took a step forward in the favor of Android (apparently). Yesterday, it released an app for Android which lets you manage your Azure cloud platform. The app lets you do a lot of things with your Azure account right from your Android smartphone.

For those of you who don’t have any information about Microsoft Azure, it is a cloud computing platform offered by Microsoft. It is similar to Google’s Cloud Platform and Amazon’s AWS. You can host your websites on it, it gives you the platform as a service, you can have virtual machines on it. Unlike the Linus servers, Microsoft Azure cloud is automated and you need need to press a few clicks to set up a server or host a website on it.

The Android app gives you notifications about all the services running in your Azure account. It gives you the complete status about your running machines like health, resource usage and hardware monitoring. You can also start or stop your services using the Android app.

This app could be a great tool while you are on the move or during the emergency situations. Like you want to stop a specific virtual machine immediately and you don’t have your laptop around, then you can stop the machine with a simple click from your phone.
