RUMOR: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword For Nintendo Switch Teased by Eiji Aonuma

Switch System Update 6.20
Nintendo Switch Console

Nintendo Live is currently taking place in Japan right now. It is an event similar to X018. Where fans can come together and enjoy different events and have fun with Nintendo games. It was during the Legend of Zelda concert performance that Eiji Aonuma, the series director of The Legend of Zelda series teased on the Stage “I know what you’re waiting for – Skyward Sword for Switch. Right?”. Could this mean that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch could be the next Zelda title for the console?

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword For Nintendo Switch Teased – Reading too much? Or Actual hope?

Originally released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2011, it was the first Legend of Zelda game to utilize motion controls. While there was a mixed reception for the game on its release, many fans were pleased with the entry on the series.

A while ago we did see some new listings on Nintendo’s website that hinted for a new Legend of Zelda game, but perhaps the team is giving Skyward Sword a fine polish? It would be easy to incorporate motion controls in the game, Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu show this as a good example, plus it would be a significant step-up from the Wii’s motion controls.

While Nintendo does have a history with bringing older games to the newer systems, Nintendo did re-release Majora’s Mask and Ocarina of TIme for the 3DS, so it wouldn’t be out of the way for them to re-release Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Switch considering how they won’t have to compromise on the motion controls which was a big feature of the game.

We have found some curious tweets that do suggest an announcement was made during the concert:

You will have to open the tweets and see the translation of the tweet on Twitter.

Keep in mind that this is all just speculation from what Eiji announced at an event. We are waiting for an official video or other places to properly translate the happenings of the director’s appearance on the stage for us to make sure we have something conclusive.

What are your thoughts on a potential Skyward Sword HD treatment? Would you welcome it or would you like some other entry to get some love like Wind Waker?
