Identity is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Asylum Entertainment, Inc. for Microsoft Windows and Mac.
For those of you who don’t know about MMORPG, Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), these are multiplayer role playing games. Unlike RPGs (Explained under my article Mass Effect: Andromeda) where you play by yourself, in MMORPGs, there’s a factor of MMO (Massively multiplayer online) which says you play online with other humans in the same virtual fantasy world as you.
Some of the most popular MMORPGs include World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Tera etc.
Gameplay
Identity claims to break the typical repetitive vibe of MMORPGs and has announced this game to be realistic and life like on a very high level.
The World
The game claims to provide a huge and detailed world like never before. Covering the area if 200km2, the world is supposed to have all sort of terrain from beaches to snow-capped mountains, from deserts to meadows and everything in between. For moving through such big map, you could either be lifeless enough to move on foot or you can use your vehicle or you can take a train.
Career
As you play the game, you make and choose the career of your own. You can take whatever job you like, job of a policeman for instance. You will be promoted to higher ranks given your good performance. In short, you can choose any professions you like from the provided ones.
Home
You can customize and build you home like never before. From wallpapers to placing couch and computers, you can make it exactly as you like.
You can also purchase a pre-made one that is on sale or simply get an apartment.
Criminal
If you refuse to choose a career path and want to live a dangerous life, you can become and outlaw or criminal. In fact, when you chose criminality you also chose a career. There are different illegal jobs waiting for you in the world of crime. Not only you can work as a drug distributor or producer, you can also start a gang of yours and control territories.
Although these ‘jobs’ are high paying, but you would always have police on your tail.
Empire
If you have business interests, you can own property from a small shop to large corporations producing multiple products. Hiring employees, workers (which most of the times would be other players) and making different artifacts.
The Identity game is not released yet (of course), but you can get your passport to this virtual world from here. You can also help devs make it better by suggesting new features or edits here.
