Halo Wars 2 is a real-time strategy game published by Microsoft Studios for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The game is set to release today.
For those who don’t have an idea of RTS games, these are the games in which you’re viewing the map with bird’s eye view and are controlling your armies to invade, destroy or capture enemy bases and fight their armies. Some of the best RTS games include Age of Empires series, Stronghold series, Company of Heroes series, Rise of Nations, Command and Conquer and Total War series.
It’s been almost 8 years since Halo Wars was released. Since then, the fan base was longing for a sequel which the developers took so long to announce, but is available for pre-order now.
Campaign
Starting in the year 2559 in the fictional universe of Halo series, the game starts shortly after the events of Halo 5: Guardians and 28 years after the happenings of Halo Wars.
The campaign comprises of the following:
The Return of the Spirit of Fire
The crew along with Captain James Cutter and Professor Anders, awaking from cryosleep on the Spirit of Fire drifting through space at the end of Halo Wars, fights a dangerous new enemy.
The Dawn of Atriox
A violent, brutal and badass new villain, Atriox, also known as The Banished, is introduced to the Halo universe through Halo Wars 2.
Except that, the other new things relating Halo Wars 2 would be introduction of the mythical ark brought up in Halo 3 as the battlefield.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer consists of 4 old school and one new mode introduced to Halo series.
Skirmish
As in other RTS games, Skirmish mode let’s you play against AI robots along with your friends.
Strongholds
Control as many bases as you can within a specified time period to win.
Domination
Dominate the map by capturing all the bases to win.
Deathmatch
The last standing player wins!
Blitz
This is the new mode introduced to Halo series introducing a different way to play RTS games.
