Apple has finally released long awaited iOS 7.1 Update which brings series of enhancement to the iOS 7. iOS 7.1 Update brings CarPlay support, Siri and Touch ID enhancements and also performance enhancement. This update was expected to come in March 2014.
CarPlay Features:
As expected earlier Apple was believed to be working on bringing iOS to cars, this updates confirm that rumor by bringing support for Cars. CarPlay will be available for new select 2014 cars. Apple partnered with some companies to bring iOS experience to the cars. As Apple stated CarPlay is a smarter and safer way to use iPhone in the car. There will be a built in display in the cars that supports CarPlay so you iPhone can project things directly on the screen. You can use maps, do calls and send or receive messages. Also you can play music along driving through iPhone in car using CarPlay. All you have to do is plug your iPhone and you are good to go.
How to use CarPlay (CarPlay Working):
CarPlay is really cool feature and probably you will be thinking how it works. CarPlay supports siri activated commands. You can control CarPlay using your voice, touch or buttons. Following are the steps to use CarPlay in the car.
1) Have CarPlay enabled car.
2) Plug your iPhone
3) Activate CarPlay using voice command or by touching buttons.
You can ask Siri to do things for you so you can drive with distraction or if you prefer touching than you can touch the CarPlay screen to perform various functions.
iOS 7.1 Features:
Along with the support for CarPlay iOS 7.1 bring enhancements for Touch ID. This new update improves the experience of Touch ID. It improves the fingerprint accuracy and other bug fixes. Camera app has new ‘HDR Auto’ feature. There is new option “Upload Burst Photos” in photos and camera tab.
Also the iPhone dialer have new look. You can now manually control Siri by using home button. BY pressing the home button Siri will starts listening you and when you release home button it stops listening. There are new parallax settings and performance improvements for iPhone 4 specially.
