But here is the deal. The gain of Android 4.4 came at the cost of the loss of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Both of the Android versions lost their share over the month of August.

But as some of the Android version lost some of their share, some gained as well. Android 4.2 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean showed a slight gain in Android market share. Android 2.3 Gingerbread dropped to 11.4%, while the lone ranger Android 2.2 Froyo remains on 0.7% of all devices.

What to expect from September you ask? Well we don’t expect any dramatic changes to the overall backdrop in September. Android 4.4 KitKat will certainly rise in the Android Market Share. The launch of the Android L will certainly amend things in the months to come after September.
